Dana Shea,

Dana Shea is a senior at the University of Toledo with a major in Professional Sales and Marketing.
Dana exhibits both entrepreneurship and leadership. She has been able to fund 100% of her college expenses through grants, loans, and employment. As the Business Manager for the Independent Collegian, the university’s student newspaper, she increased sales by 30%, implemented a contact management system, and increased circulation by 25%. Dana continues to work at the Independent Collegian.
Beyond academics and business she is on the board of directors for the Collegian Media Foundation, the social chair of Epsilon Delta Chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon (professional sales and marketing fraternity), the vice president of fundraising and community service for the American Marketing Association, team captain for the American Cancer society’s relay for life.
Dana looks forward to a career in sales.

Jessica Howard,

Jessica Howard, a senior at Wayne State University, will graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration majoring in Marketing.
On the Dean’s List from 2004 to 2005, Jessica has earned multiple awards and scholarships towards her college education including a basketball scholarship and a soccer scholarship. She also received a scholar athlete award.
In addition to athletic excellence, Jessica has mastered numerous software applications and she has an impressive 3.8 GPA.
Beyond school, Jessica has worked at the Wayne State University Call Center, Red Robin, and Marshalls to help fund her education. In each of these jobs she gained considerable customer service skills.
With this background we know that Jessica will be successful in advertising and marketing.

As she enters her junior year at the Wayne State University Yelena Pliskina is looking forward to a career in advertising.
She is an award winning student, having received many awards including:
The James Ellis “Service Above Self” Scholarship for leadership and community service, Jon Grant Spiritual Leadership Award for community spirit, the Farmington Youth Assistance Youth Recognition Award, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for outstanding community service.
Beyond academics Yelena has demonstrated leadership skills as president of the Humanitarian Club, Vice President of SADD, and Senior Representative on the National Honors Society during her senior year of High School.
She even finds time for bowling, receiving her varsity letter and being selected as the most valuable player. She also works at Coldwell Banker Schweitzer Real Estate.

2005 Scholarship Recipients,

Each year, MSED presents scholarships to local university students pursuing majors and future careers in sales and marketing. This year, MSED presented five $2,000 scholarships to the following recipients:
Stephanie Patton, a junior at the University of Detroit Mercy, is on both the Dean’s academic list and the athletic director’s academic Dean’s list. She works two part-time jobs during the school year and a full-time job during the summer. Her goal is to work in sales and one day become a Marketing Manager.
Daniel Zinser has been honored at the University of Detroit Mercy for his achievements in academic and athletic endeavors. In addition to holding a position at the University to help pay for his education, Mr. Zinser has worked for the Dearborn Sausage Company in a sales capacity developing the skills that will help him reach his career goal in sales and marketing.
Joshua Holbein is a senior at the University of Toledo with a dual major in marketing and professional sales. While working his way through school, he still finds time to play intramural softball and soccer. When he graduates he hopes to become an Account Manager and ultimately become an executive.
Stacey Dieterle will graduate from Wayne State University in May with a major in marketing management. In addition to being a full-time student, she runs her own company, Fusion Technology Records, and she works part-time at the Max M. Fisher Orchestra Hall during the concert season. She is looking forward to working in sales or advertising.
Creighton Kovacs, Jr. a senior at the University of Toledo, is looking forward to a career in marketing with a financial services firm. He has worked hard to balance work and school and still managed to make the Dean’s list last year.
