Join us for the latest in our popular Fireside Chat Series, presenting an intimate look at local business leaders and how they achieve world-class results.

On December 6, 2018, Ramzi Hermiz, President and CEO of Shiloh Industries, will share the story of steady growth experienced by the automotive supplier under his leadership and vision.

Hermiz’ leadership style is one of honesty, transparency and communication. He encourages leaders to step out of their comfort zone, soliciting and providing all manner of feedback at all stages and levels and to exceed expectations whenever possible.

As a result of Hermiz’ leadership and commitment to the environment, not only has Shiloh grown from a regional supplier to a $1 billion global player, it has strengthened its commitment as a steward of the earth. Conservation of the global environment is evident through Shiloh’s many landfill-free facilities, as well as its drive to positively affect the environmental impact of Shiloh’s products and processes through improved fuel economy, reduced greenhouse gases and increased recyclability.

Program Summary

MSED board member, Jim Nader, will moderate this peek at Shiloh and its charismatic leader, current chairman of the board of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) and the Automotive Hall of Fame. Hermiz also is on the Board of Trustees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In the past, the MSED Fireside Chat Series has featured Joseph Anderson of TAG Holdings, Steve Miller of Delphi, Steve Kiefer of General Motors, Carl Camden of Kelly Services, and most recently Matt Simoncini of Lear.

About the Speakers:

President and Chief Executive Officer

Since joining the company in 2012, Hermiz has transformed Shiloh from a regional automotive supplier into a $1B global company with a strategic focus on designing, engineering and manufacturing lightweight technologies that improve performance, reduce noise and vibration and benefit the environment.

During his tenure, Hermiz has repositioned the company, now recognized as a global technology leader; expanded the company’s customer base; and grown its manufacturing footprint from nine North American plants to 34 operations, sales and technical centers throughout Asia, Europe and North America, more than doubling its revenue and employee base.

As a champion of sustainability, Hermiz’s commitment to sustainable work practices and to protecting and conserving the global environment is evident through Shiloh’s many landfill-free facilities, as well as his drive to positively affect the environmental impact of Shiloh’s products and processes through improved fuel economy, reduced greenhouse gases and increased recyclability.

Hermiz, an auto industry veteran, spent 22 years at Federal-Mogul Corporation prior to joining Shiloh. He holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Marquette University, and an MBA in international business from DePaul University.
